Was the band previously called Capture the Flag or was that another band completely?
That was another band. That had Tim (NA / Guitar) and I, in it. We played one show, it lasted about three months.

What does the name the Nerve Agents mean?
It’s what it is. No special meaning, I just wanted to use something that was fucked up, sort of a  sign of the times symbol. If this was the 80’s we might be called the Silo’s, or the cold war action figures. (Please kids, don’t take this literally. I am only joking!)

The members of Nerve Agents have been and are in some great bands. Can you name some of those and the lineup?
O.K., Dante (bass) lone fun for hire (not a band), Andy Outbreak (drums) Model American, Timmy Stardust (guitar) sings for Model American, Zac (guitar) ex-Fury 66, and me (Eric/vocals) Redemption 87, and Unit Pride.

Do any of the current bands get in the way of the Nerve Agents?
No, this is priority #1, for all of us. Our lives are what get in the way. We enjoy playing, but there are things that are more important, like school, and relationships. Those things take precedence.

The Nerve Agents have members coming from both the punk and hardcore, but would you give the band either label?
It is one and the same to us. The stuff that inspires us to play is earlier punk/hardcore music. That term was used as the same thing.

How would you describe the bands sound?
It depends on the song. We have dark, aggressive, poppy, heavy... With our new album’s songs there is alot more to us.

What is the most important message that you try to send through the band?
Each song has its own message, question, confusions... It all ranges from domestic violence, racism, love, fear of the future... There are negatives and positives. As in everyones life.

Why does your cd ep have the whole end of the world with gas masks theme?
I was very into reading about chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction, being used by terrorists. When we needed a name, I came up with it ... for a symbol (sign of the times).

What are some future plans and also goals for the band?
To tour this summer, record our album in January, hopefully one day play Japan, Australia, Europe ... fun stuff.

You have been into punk and hardcore for over ten years. Is there anything you want to say about those times or anything you want changed about the current scene?
What I want doesn’t really matter in terms of the music scene. I’ve learned that it fluctuates, no matter what you do ... bad, good, bad etc. All the bull shit exists no matter what is happening, or how many people try to take care of it. Human nature is behind it all. So evolution will take place, racism will take place, violence will take place, ego’s, hypocrites, rapes, all the shit will happen. Take care of yourself and grow as a person. Give others a chance, even if they are not like you. That is all you can really do.

Any topics in society that you want to voice your opinion on?
I do all the time. I am vegan, and if you are not, that is fine. But if you are willing to learn more about what they do to animals that you eat, you should read “Diet For A New America” by John Robbins. My meat earing friends quit eating meat after I told them they should read it. If anything, it will make you more aware of what they do to animals, and what you are putting in your bodies.

Revelation says that you are up to play Anikin in the next Star Wars movie?
No I got beat out by Leonardo Dicaprio.

What are some other roles you have acted in?
I have only acted in one movie. It was a short film by Tim Armstrong called “Larry’s Dead.” It starred Lars Frederikson (Rancid), and had Tim (Rancid) in it also. I was a drunk 49er fan that makes fun of Lars and he pulls a gun on me, and I run away, Shaggy and Scooby style. I have done extra work in Felicity, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and a Holocaust video.

Who would be your favorite actor and actress to work with?
I don't know, I have so many. Maybe Nicolas Cage and Patricia Arquette. Hmmmm? Harrison Ford would be fun. Gary Oldman, Willem Dafoe ... Julia Roberts ... there are lots!!!

Is there some other dream job you would love to have?
If I could be a real singer like Morrissey that would be a dream.
